Inspection Services

Our inspection practice covers the full range of NYC Department of Buildings requirements — from special inspections during active construction to energy code compliance and building envelope diagnostics. We bring code expertise, field experience, and clear documentation to every assignment.

01

TR1 Special
Inspections

NYC DOB special inspections for structural steel, concrete, masonry, and high-strength bolting per Chapter 17 of the NYC Building Code. Our ICC-certified inspectors are on-site during critical construction operations to verify that materials, methods, and workmanship conform to the approved design documents.

02

TR8 Energy Code
Inspections

Energy code compliance inspections and progress inspections per NYC Energy Conservation Code. We verify that building envelope and mechanical systems meet energy performance requirements at each phase of construction.

03

TR2 & TR3
Concrete Testing

Concrete sampling, testing, and reporting including TR2 (concrete) and TR3 (reinforced concrete) special inspection programs. Includes cylinder breaks, slump tests, air content, and temperature monitoring with full laboratory reporting.

04

Leak Investigation &
Infrared Thermography

Building envelope diagnostics using visual inspection and infrared thermography to identify moisture intrusion, air leakage, and thermal bridging behind finished surfaces.

05

Annual Parapet
Inspections

Annual Parapet Inspections are required under NYC Local Law 126 and involve close-up observations of all public-facing parapets to assess stability, alignment, and signs of deterioration. SAS conducts these inspections across building types citywide, identifying conditions such as cracking, displacement, and failed mortar joints that pose falling hazards to the public. Findings are documented and reported to building owners with recommended remediation scopes to maintain compliance and protect occupants below.
